The Sugar Bowl – Challenge 103 – May 2013

It’s time for another challenge over at The Sugar Bowl and, I am still only making one card a month….this has to change, sooner or later!

We have no restrictions on what you choose to make, as it's an 'Anything Goes' challenge, the only requirement is to use a Sugar Nellie stamp!

I needed a bright, happy and fun birthday card for a bright, happy fun lady, who hates pink!

There’s only a teeny tiny bit…honest!

This is Peek A Boo…

I've used another of my favourite paper pads for this card, almost every sheet is so bright and cheerful, it can’t help but cheer you up!

It hasn’t photographed very well but, I used some glossy accents to make the balloons look shiny and raise them a bit!

We have lost a very special Sweetie over on The Sugar Bowl, as our lovely Erika has decided to step down. 

She will be very sadly missed, particularly by me, as she has been with me since we began the blog…far too long ago now!

The Sugar Bowl – Challenge 102 - April 2013

I'm here, but I'm not here, this week!

I am away for a few days at the beach (probably snow covered) with my kiddiwinkles!

So the lovely Fiona, has taken over my duties for this month at The Sugar Bowl, and for that Fi, I very sincerely thank you!

As is the norm for us now, it's an 'Anything Goes' challenge, the only requirement is to use a Sugar Nellie stamp! 

So, this month, I've used one of my personal favourites...Charlotte!

  
These are also some of my favourite papers at the moment...I'm going through a bit of a 'purple patch' .....I have almost run out of these completely, which almost never happens with me! 

I have loads and loads of 6 inch pads with perhaps 2 or 3 sheets taken out of them!

Oh, how I do so love my papers!

But, I'm relatively sure, in the craft world, I am not alone.

We all have far too much stash, so this year I intend on using up a fair bit of mine!

Another month, another challenge over at The Sugar Bowl.

Didn’t I start this year out with the intention of posting more than once a month?

I can’t believe quite how quickly the month comes around!

Anyhoo…we’re sticking with the ‘Anythigng Goes’ theme.

I can’t possibly begin to tell you how difficult this card was, so difficult in fact, that it’s been made and then completely remade!!!

I’m so far removed from my ‘A Game’ at the moment….can’t quite seem to get my head around anything to do it properly!

I need to allocate myself some crafty time again to remember why I love doing this….

The Sugar Bowl – Challenge 100!!!

Ah, today is a big day over on The Sugar Bowl. our 100th Challenge!!!

Can’t quite believe it….where have the past 4 years has gone????

Time has marched on….and as Dolly Parton once said

‘and sooner or later you realise it’s marching all over your face’

No such problems for this little lady though….

This is the delightful ‘Rachael’ another of our Vintage Adorable Digital images.

(the perfect excuse for an instant sugar rush!!!)

This was my big girls birthday card for this year….and really she should be called Ava because she really is VERY like her….

To prove a point, here she is with, my Dad, her Grandpa, who also shares her birthday!

The Sugar Bowl – Challenge 99 – January 2013

Well, well, well….

It’s been a long time since I’ve been in here!

Unfortunately for the last six months or so my ‘real’ life has taken over my ‘crafting life’ which means that I haven’t posted here since August and have barely made a card since July!

Hopefully things will calm down a little now and so what better way get back in the swing of things than by joining in the new challenge over on ‘The Sugar Bowl’.

I can’t quite believe that we’re at Challenge 99 already….time flies huh?

Anyhoo…we’ve been making some changes over at The Sugar Bowl, so we now have no sketch, no theme and the challenge runs for four weeks now, instead of two! 

Giving everyone plenty of time to get their entries in…

So here’s my card….

I’ve kept it very simple, with no sketch to follow and very little memory of what I used to do to make a card!

 Quite scary how quickly we forget things when you get ‘out of the loop’.

Anyway I’ve used one of our new Vintage Adorables digi stamps for this card…this is the lovely Annabel.

I have not been a huge fan of digi’s in the past BUT….these little cuties have stolen my heart and because they’re available for immediate download, there’s no need to stalk the postie!

They are also extremely easy to colour….because they are pre shaded, even I (the colouring challenged) managed with ease.

They always do me so very proud, even when I’m not around!

The Sugar Bowl–Challenge 89–Maria Therese’s Sketch

It’s time for The Sugar Bowl once again!

Yes, we’re back from our extended summer break, much refreshed and with exciting new developments!

Firstly….we have a new sketch, this time around it’s from Maria Therese, and with this sketch you can place the image anywhere on the sketch!

We also had the optional theme of ‘Butterflies’

I resurrected one of our Manga stamps for this challenge…

I love the ‘funkiness’ of this range, so useful for the ‘difficult’ teenagers!

So….onto our other news, we have some new ‘Sweeties’ to introduce to you today

The Sugar Bowl–Challenge 88–My Sketch

Well, it’s my turn to design the sketch over at The Sugar Bowl this time….

So nothing too strenuous, a nice simple sketch that can be dressed up or left plain!

The theme is a topical one too,Summertime,  and quite interpretative so you can be nice and creative!

For me nowadays, means school holidays….(I seem to have come full circle)

Just before the holidays is the time to say thank you to the teachers, and I had several to make this year, as Ava had two job share teachers this year, a classroom assistant and her deputy head was moving to a new school and Ava wanted to give her a card too!

So here are the multiples, all coloured identically in Ava’s school colours….I love the fact that we can use stamps and add the childs school colours as it makes things so much more special (I think anyway) 

However, I am just a little fed up with having to use soooo much ‘Chipped Sapphire’ ink!

So, here's what they looked like made up, they were all variations on this theme….

,

I do LOVE this little stamp….she does remind me of my Ava whenever I see her….and even more so when she is wearing an almost identical replica of her school uniform!

We are taking a break over the summer and so this challenge will last for 4 weeks instead of 2 whilst people wander off in search of the sun!

So I will wish you all a very good summer and I’m praying the rain stops for us all!

The Sugar Bowl - Challenge 87–Fiona’s Sketch

We have a 1st time sketcher over at The Sugar Bowl today….

It’s our Fiona’s 1st time submitting a sketch for us all to attempt…

It’s a beauty Fi, however, I did scream a little when I saw all of those layers!!!

But, a challenge is just that and so. here we go….

I love it now that I see it all made up!

This was crazy Mrs Liveseys birthday card, and as the papers were ‘LOUD’ I’ve left it embellishment free….I doubt you’d see nay embellishments anyway for all the patterns!

Something a little different for me, and a change is as good as a rest…so they say x
